 Summary

The Internet of Things and manufacturing automation have converged in recent years to
bring about the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). This has, in turn, become a key component of
modern manufacturing processes, and, thus, a need for proper cybersecurity mechanisms to protect
these deployments has arisen. To combat this problem, I seek to design, build and demonstrate an architecture
capable of providing semi-autonomous security measures to an IIoT deployment by leveraging

techniques emerging in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering and Cybersecurity, whilst
also preserving the involvement of human operators throughout the decision-making process.
