[Nicolas Six] Towards the construction of a blockchain knowledge base

As blockchain is a growing and novel field, many blockchain technologies were recently created to address various problems. In the meantime, practices evolve as developers find new creative ways to build blockchain applications more efficiently, that can be formalized as architectural or design patterns. Unfortunately, those new patterns and technologies are sparced throughout business and academic works, making them impractical for reuse. There is a lack of a centralized knowledge base of blockchain technologies and patterns to support the decision-making between technologies, and the development of robust blockchain applications. To address this problem, we propose the creation of such a database by introducing on-going works towards this goal, such as the creation of a relevant blockchain taxonomy that will serve as the structure of our knowledge base of technologies, as well as a literature review to extract new blockchainarchitectural patterns.
